Cookie policy
References.watch is a cookie-free service. We do not use tracking cookies and we do not store uploaded watch photos.
1. Cookies and similar technologies
This policy uses “cookies” broadly to include browser cookies, local storage, pixels, device identifiers and similar methods that store or access information on a device.
2. Technology used by References.watch
References.watch is a cookie-free service. We do not use tracking cookies and we do not store uploaded watch photos. Uploaded images and shared information are processed only to return the requested identification or condition-assessment result.
Local preference only. Your Light / Dark theme preference may be saved locally in your browser.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
rw-theme | Local storage | Remembers whether you selected light or dark display mode | Until you change it or clear browser storage |
This preference is functional and is not used to track browsing across websites. The current public code does not intentionally place advertising, profiling or non-essential analytics cookies.
3. Uploaded images and shared information
Uploaded images and shared information are processed only to return the requested identification or condition-assessment result. References.watch does not use those uploads for tracking or analytics and does not intentionally write uploaded watch photos to application storage.
4. Hosting and security mechanisms
For security and availability, Cloudflare may set strictly necessary technical cookies. These are not used by References.watch for tracking or analytics.
External sites linked as evidence may use their own cookies after you choose to visit them. Their policies, not this one, govern that use.
5. How to control storage
You can change the theme from the site controls or remove rw-theme using your browser's site-data settings. Blocking all site storage may prevent the chosen theme from persisting but should not prevent access to the reference database.
Browser documentation explains how to inspect, delete or block cookies and local storage. Clearing storage resets the site to the system preference.
6. Future analytics or additional cookies
If References.watch introduces non-essential analytics, marketing or profiling technology, this page will be updated and an appropriate consent mechanism will be presented before that technology is activated for users who require consent.
